| July 2005 - MedQuery was started. Previous to that time, Chris Lee had worked in a variety of roles at Abbott Labs including market research, product management, and pharmaceutical sales. In addition, he worked for Ziment Associates (now Kantar Health) as a Vice President of Client Services selling market research services to healthcare manufacturers. During that time, he noticed that at most of his focus group events in Chicago, the same physicians kept showing up and thought there had to be a better way to ensure a diverse groups of physicians attended the market research. Knowing the local hospitals and physicians from his days as a pharma sales rep, he realized that all of the focus group facilities were located near Michigan Ave, which is a great tourist destination, but is very far from where most physicians in Chicago work.
On the western edge of downtown Chicago resides a huge largest medical compus including several of the largest hospitals in Chicago – Rush University Medical Center, University of Illinois Medical Center, Stroger County Hospital and the Verterans Affairs Hospital. MedQuery opened its facility just down the road from this campus to help maximize the ability of respondents to easily come and go to the market research. Jason Turner, former director of recruiting at 20/20 was hired in 2005 to create the call center and continues to work at MedQuery. The result was an effective solution to ensure a diverse range of medical professionals participated and consistently showed up for their interviews.
January 2006 - It became apparent that there was also a shortage of recruiting companies that could effectively recruit rarer medical specialists and those with rare medical conditions on a national level. Given MedQuery’s unique medical recruiting only niche and our past experience calling on hospitals and clinics, we were able to offer unique recruiting approaches which translated into a cost effective solution to recruit medical professionals and patients.
January 2008 – MedQuery had staff from 28 of the top 30 healthcare manufacturers visit the focus group facility in Chicago.
March 2008- MedQuery was rated #1 overall in Chicago for Recruiting and Personnel by the Impulse Survey of Moderators and Field Managers. MedQuery has continued to be rated #1 through the 2010 surveys.
May 2010 – MedQuery opened a new call center and doubled its floor space.
July 2010 – MedQuery launches its Hospital Executive Panel – an in house database of all director level and higher executives at hospitals.
September 2010- MedQuery launches its Office Staff Panel – an in house database of all physician office staff – office managers, nurses, NPs/PAs, and pharmacists
December 2010 – MedQuery completed recruiting for its 5,000th project!
January 2011 – MedQuery’s rare patient panel includes the ability to recruit over 150 hemophilia patients (only 9,000 total nationally).
April 2011 – MedQuery has the largest panel of non-physician medical professionals now including lab directors, freestanding surgery centers, dialysis centers, and infusion centers.
Today, MedQuery is known as the company that can make Difficult Medical Recruiting Easy! |
